This immersion is an opportunity to understand exactly why the world view articulated in the Mythological Cycle is so special, unique and so relevant to a troubled modern world. This is through a journey in to four of the Cultures that Cessair passed through and especially by looking at the Myths of these cultures and specifically their Creation Myths. We will look at the Egyptian, Babylonian, Hebrew and Greek Cultures through their Creation Myths.
While Cultural Myths are a way of unlocking the secret of human nature, creation myths tell us how that culture believed the world was first created out of chaos. This is very important because, and we will explore this proposition/hypothesis, a creation myth gives us an indication as to how the culture will react when faced again with chaos, disruption and major crises.
We know from neuroscience that we as humans and cultures react differently when under pressure, when faced with the unknown, or by complexity and ambiguity. Creation Myths guide us as to the likely behavior and likely collective responses. What is so special about Cessair and the Archaic Irish is that they evolved a very different response. The Irish reaction to chaos and disorder is remarkable. It is as if Cesair saw all the other options as spelt out in the four world Creation Myths and decided she and her people did not like any of them. They deserved something else, something better!
