Week 7 March 12th Achtan and MesBuachala
Here we look at the mothers of two great Irish Kings: Cormac mac Airt and Conaire Mor and the role they play in bringing up their sons in adverse circumstances. We see the role the wild world of nature plays for Cormac and how the mix of this world/other world plays for Cormac. We also see the importance of fostering in the upbringing. It gives these ‘royal’ children a powerful sense of perspective. The know good parenting (Kingship/Queenship) because they have seen alternatives. Margarita wrote the retelling but technical problems with Guatamala meant Ellen and Sandy stepped in for the retelling.
