Mythic Voices

Mythic Voices is a space and platform for folk whose work is inspired by Myth. All the “Voices” are friends of Bard Mythologies.
They are from different fields: artists, poets, writers, storytellers, activists etc. All have an interest in mythic roots in modernity whether from a cultural, political or commercial point of view.

Adam Wyeth

Adam is a poet, playwright and cultural critic with a particular interest in Celtic Myth. His recent book analyses Mythic themes in 16 of Ireland’s best known poets.

Sorcha & Aron Hegarty

The Hegarty brother and sister pair have done a wonderful job in setting up Candlelit Tales where the Myths are told again in their time d format – and often in a Dublin pub – no better ‘mythic’ work place.

Sandy Dunlop
Cultural Mythographer

Sandy’s interest is the mythic roots in Cultural Narratives, hence cultural mythographer.  These
narratives include political, cultural, film, TV, brands.  Currently working on how the 45th President of the US uses myth as a form of persuasion, (red rhetoric).  See latest videos.  Sandy is an Irish  immigrant; born in India to Scottish parents, educated in England,  and now an Irish citizen. Works in a corporate and brand context with archetype, story and myth.

John McFadden
Author

John came late to following his lifetime passion for writing. It was after a career as an engineer in
aerospace. He attended the Bard Summer School many years back and gathered material which he has woven into his book Deirdre’s Dawn. It draws on the Book of Invasions but familiar mythic names like Deirdre, Culain and Brigid are also present. This excellent work is part of a trilogy.

Ann and Annette
Ardagh Creative

This centre of Myth and Storytelling was set up by Ann and Annette in Ardagh. It celebrates the local myth of Midir and Etain. The two ladies run events and storytelling and workshops and do a marvelous job bringing to life a powerful Irish Myth among their many initiatives.
